I am a PhD scholar at IIIT-Delhi. I am working with Image Analysis and Biomterics group. My research interests include Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, and Image Processing with emphasis on their applications to Biometrics. Dr. Richa Singh and Dr. Mayank Vatsa are my advisors. I joined PhD programme in July-2010. Previously, I have completed Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Engineering from Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science, Rajkot. Currently, I am looking for job opportunities.

I am fortunate to have had the opportunities of working with Dr. Afzel Noore as a Visiting Scholar at West Virginia University (June, 2014 to October, 2014), and Dr. Ajay Kumar as a Research Exchange Student at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (June, 2011 to August, 2011).

I have worked on problems related to face recognition and generic pattern recognition problems. Majorly, I have worked on following problems:

  • Semisupervised Incremental learning - creating computationally efficient updatable subspace models (ICIP 2012, PR 2016);
  • Heterogeneous learning - for matching face images of different spectrum, matching sketch with digital photo, etc. (ICPR 2014, BTAS 2015, PR submitted);
  • Face recognition under disguise- automated approach and cognitive understanding based on human evaluation (ICB 2013, PLoS One 2014);
  • Large scale learning - approach to learn SVM from large scale data with reduced time complexity. (PR under preparation)
Apart from these, I have worked on problems such as face gender classification (IJCB 2011), face anti-spoofing (CVPRW 2013), thermal face detection (Book chapter), face recognition from videos (Book chapter), crowd video face recognition (ICB 2015), and topic modeling based face recognition (WACV 2016 accepted).
