I am an Assistant Professor at IIIT Delhi.

Prior to this I was a post doctoral researcher at Hebrew University working with Prof. Shmuel Peleg (May 2012-May 2014). I received my Bachelors and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India in 1999 and 2012 respectively. At IIT I worked with Prof. Subhashis Banerjee, Prof. S.N. Maheshwari and Prof. Prem Kalra. From 1999 to 2009, I was involved in co-founding technology startups with my collaborators in India and Japan.

I work in the area of Computer Vision and Machine Learning. My specific research interests lie in Egocentric Vision (a.k.a. first person wearable cameras) and combinatorial optimization algorithms specially for MRF-MAP inference. I am also committed to applications of my expertise for developing novel tools to assist visually impaired people.

January 14, 2017: Giving a lecture on Deep Reinforcement Learning and Egocentric Computer Vision, in a short course on Deep Learning and Applications organized by IIT Kanpur.
 
December 27-29, 2016: Will be attending Mysore Park Workshop on Vision, Language, and AI. Will give a talk on some of our recent works on Egocentric Vision.
 
December 20-22, 2016: Will be attending ICVGIP at IIT Guwahati. Will chair a session on Dec 21. I was also the area chair for the conference.
 
November 20, 2016: Co-organizing a workshop on "Assistive Vision" in conjunction with ACCV 2016 at Taipei.
 
October 15, 2016: Organizing a workshop on "Computer Vision for Persons with Disabilities" at IIIT Delhi.
