Brief Bio

I received my Masters and PhD in Computer Science from the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University.I have more than 80 publications in refereed journals, book chapters, and conferences. I have received six best paper/poster awards.

I am a member of the Indian Biometrics Standards Committee. I also served as a member of the UIDAI's Biomtrics Standard Subcommittee member (face, fingerprint, and iris standards). I am also a member of the IEEE, Computer Society, ACM, Golden Key International, Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, Upsilon Pi Epsilon, and Eta Kappa Nu honor societies.

My current areas of interest are biometrics, image processing, image forensics, uncertainty principles, watermarking, and information fusion.

Current Research

Recently, biometrics research group has undertaken some interesting research projects:

• Simultaneous Latent Fingerprint Recognition: A Preliminary Study (Best Reviewed Paper in BTAS 2009)
• Combining Pores and Ridges with Minutiae for Improved Fingerprint Verification (Published in Signal Processing Journal)
