I am a research scholar at IIIT-Delhi, pursuing Ph.D. in Computer Science under the guidance of Dr. Richa Singh and Dr. Mayank Vatsa. My research interest includes image processing, machine learning and pattern recognition with their application in biometrics.

Recipient of IBM Ph.D. Fellowship for 2011-2012 academic year.

Biometrics

Biometrics is method of uniquely identifying a human based on some physical or behavioral characterstics. There are several biometric modalities that includes face , fingerprints , iris, gait, palmprints, ear biometrics, hand, speech, vascular etc. Biometrics is used in many applications like access control, homeland and border security etc.

 

In India, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), headed by Nandan Nilekani plans to issue Biometrics based unique ID to each and every citizen of India within next five years.
