Technologies Successfully Developed and Transfered

  1. Mobile application and voice based service for NREGS related information dissemination: Developed ODK based mobile application for NREGS and family data collection. Further developed a voice based service for FAQ, information dissemination and status query for NREGS (Mobile Application Lead Developers - Abhishek Gupta, Jatin Thapar, UG, Class of 2014; Voice Based Service Lead Developer - Siddhartha Asthana, PhD Student). In collaboration with Dr. Vivek Srinivasan at Stanford  (ongoing development and improvement)

  2. WiFiShare: uses wireless hotspot technology to enable adhoc file transfer between two or more android phones. More details are available here. Application is available for download on Google Play store with already more than 5000 installations with average rating of 4.5/5. (Lead Developer - Kuldeep Yadav, PhD student)

  3. Billing Module (OpenMRS): Developed billing module as front end for openMRS based medical record system being developed by NGO Raxa for deployment in Chhatisgarh (Lead Developer - Abhishek Gupta, Jatin Thapar, UG, Class of 2014)

  4. mbackup: Cross platform (available for Symbian and Android) mobile application to transfer phone contacts and SMS from one phone to another as well as to take backup of this data on Dropbox.   5. Medicines for Disaster: In collaboration with Dr. Ranjit Roy Chaudhury (Apollo Hospitals), developed a mobile (works for both Android phones as well as tablets) application giving necessary medical information of critical importance during disasters (Lead Developer - Atul Goyal, UG, Class of 2012

  6. Blood Bank Module (OpenMRS): Developed blood bank module for Health Information System deployed in District Hospital in Shimla. The module is running live and is used for registration of blood donors, keeping account of available blood and release of donated blood (Lead Developers - Apurv Mehra, Sanchit Sharma, UG, Class of 2013, in collaboration with HISP India)  

  7. CVDMagic: Developed a CVDMagic application for early detection of Cardio-Vascular Disease based on previously proposed studies using non-laboratory based tests. The application was developed within the Sana Framework (developed by Sana group at MIT) and deployed in rural areas of Punjab with Electronic Health Point (EHP) who are setting up rural clinics in that state. The healthcare worker from EHP collected data for about 190 people using the application. (Lead Developer - Sangeeta, M.Tech.)

  8. Disha route planner: Developed as an internship project and later on modified to include extensive database from the industrial partner – DIMTS, this application provides the user with route information for going between any two places in Delhi using public transport. The application is currently hosted and maintained by our industrial partner – Delhi Integrated Multi-modal Transportation Systems (DIMTS) at http://61.16.238.196/Disha/index.php

  9. RightFare Auto Fare Application: Developed as an internship project, the application takes two locations in Delhi as input over SMS and calculates the approximate auto fare between the two given locations. The application also returns the list of landmarks that will come on the way. The service is supposed to help people knowing the shortest possible route between any two locations and avoid being overcharged. Our industrial collaborator, a startup called Ideophone (The name by Ideophone is changed to Autofare http://www.ideophone.in/products/sms/) has now further extended the service with some additional features including support for multiple cities.   10. Sana Mobile Healthcare for Symbian Platform: Previously Sana platform was available only for Android platform. Symbian is the most popular platform in India. We have ported Sana to Symbian.

  11. SMS Feedback Utility: Developed an application that collects feedback from users via SMS. The application can collate feedback per survey and create a report at the end of the survey about feedback. Each feedback is a rating from 1 to 5. We are planning to use the application to survey quality of lectures and talks.
