Abstract:
The title can itself be debated for 35 minutes (duration of the talk). Once
we overcome the shock of realizing that we actually play games, we need to
learn the rules. Are the rules well defined and precise? Where do we play
these games? Who do we play these games with and when? Is it a fair game? I
will make an honest attempt using my understanding of the reference book to
answer these questions. It turns out that the game starts as soon as we
enroll in a university as graduate students and lasts for ever. The rules
are imprecise. Fields for the game- well attend the talk for the rest.
This talk is mostly inspired by a book that I read recently, Winning the
Games Scientists Play, Carl J Sindermann.
