  1. Accepted publications at NSDR'11, HotMobile'11, ICTD'12, MDM'12, iHCI'12
  2. National Geographic Society awarded a grant to Dr. Vinayak Naik, Dr. Raja Sengupta, and Dr. Amarjeet Singh on Use of Cell Phone for Detecting and Controlling Infectious Diseases
  3. Microsoft Research, India awarded a grant to Dr. Vinayak Naik and Dr. Amarjeet Singh for a project on Intelligent Information Access for Low-end Mobile Phones
  4. Dr. Pushpendra Singh awarded DST, FAST grant
  5. Dr. Amarjeet Singh is co-PI on a grant from Nokia Research for web based mobile architecture and programming
  6. Floated a new course in Integrated Health Information Architecture during Monsoon 2011 in collaboration with HISP, India
  7. Dr. Amarjeet Singh awarded IBM Faculty Award for 2011 (among 3 faculty awarded countrywide)
  8. AutoFare developed by UG students in our group extended and maintained by a startup in Bangalore - Won first prize in judges choice at app2fame 2011 contest
  9. Developed and deployed a IVR system for B.Tech. admission process of IIIT Delhi

Highlights of 2010-2011:

  1. Accepted publications at NSDR'10, Middleware'10 (Demo Paper), and NetHealth'11
  2. Nokia Research Center, Finland and India offered grants to Dr. Vinayak Naik to setup a laboratory in Healthcare and Mobile Computing
  3. Kuldeep Yadav, PhD student, awarded MSR India PhD Fellowship (among 6 students selected countrywide)
  4. Developed and deployed following applications:
    1. SMSAssassin application for detecting SMS spam messages
    2. CVDMagic - mobile based application for early detection of CVD risk; Deployed at a couple of villages in Bhatinda district in collaboration with EHP, India
    3. Disha - journey planner for traveling in Delhi using public transport (Metro and Bus). This application is currently deployed and hosted by Delhi Integrated Multi-modal Transit System - DIMTS on their website.
    4. AutoFare - mobile based application for calculating approximate Auto fare between two destinations in Delhi.
  5. Completed a consulting project from Iffko Kisaan Sanchar Limited on analysis of their voice based value added services to farmers in rural India.
  6. Kuldeep Yadav joined as a PhD student in the group in January 2010 while Pandarasamy Arjunan and Siddhartha Asthana joined as PhD students in July 2010.
  7. Dr. Amarjeet Singh co-organized Workshop on Sensor Enabled Situational Awareness (SESA) in ICDCN, January 2, 2011, Bangalore, India
  8. Dr. Amarjeet Singh co-organized International Symposium for Experimental Robotics (ISER), 2010, Delhi, India
